As the
PQ awards deadline gets closer and nominations continue to pour in, the career opportunities for PQs are getting better, with the number of PQ candidates and vacancies rising. Lisa Dendle, MD of Walker Dendle says, “The PQ division has been our busiest for the past three to six months. There is lots of activity within the salary band £25,000 - £35,000".
For the crème de la crème of PQs, though, salaries could be even higher. “Employers are increasingly looking at
PQs with decent skill sets. It is still possible for finalists to be placed in the £40,000 - £45,000. People have become more aware of what PQs can offer” says Mark Thomas, Directors PQ division at Marks Sattin.
Companies did put off absorbing
PQs during the recession but are now both able and willing to provide them with study support. So for PQs things are certainly looking up, in fact a recent CIMA study showed that 93% of CIMA PQs around the world did not expect to be affected by redundancy in 2011. “Don’t look at the headlines, talk to recruitment consultants and see what is out there” says. Mark Thomas, Director PQ division at Marks Sattin.
