Psychometric testing 'increasingly popular' in recruitment Psychometric testing is an increasingly popular tool in the recruitment process, it has been claimed.

According to Rachel Middleton, the manager of the Psychological Testing Centre, psychometric testing is becoming more popular at a time when more traditional application forms and CVs have fallen out of favour with many employers.

Who runs the centre?

The Psychological Testing Centre is run by the British Psychological Society.

"There's no guarantee that if you just select through normal procedures of the interview process you're necessarily going to have the right candidate for the job. They are increasingly popular," said Ms Middleton.

Are psychometric tests used in any other way?

It was also noted by Ms Middleton that psychometric testing is also starting to be used by businesses for existing employers as a way to improve team dynamics.

Established in 1901, the British Psychological Society has a membership base of more than 45,000.
