Organisation praises value of employee benefits Company benefits are useful for both employers and workers, it has been claimed.

According to Peter Reilly, the director of human resources research and consultancy at the Institute for Employment Studies, employee benefits - beyond monetary remuneration - can enhance the appeal of a company both for the young and for those with family members.

What is the attraction for employees?

In particular, young people - such as recent graduates - may be keen to obtain enhanced levels of paid holiday and those with families may be attracted to benefits such as health insurance.

"It's about understanding what your workforce is like - age-wise, gender-wise, income-wise - and tailoring your offer to meet those. If you've got a very diverse workforce you can let them decide," said Mr Reilly.

How do companies benefit?

Mr Reilly also noted that employee benefits might also be valuable to companies, as they may generate cost savings and tax efficiencies.
