This exciting new role will support the rapidly evolving insurance investment strategy (optimising the return on the annuity investment portfolio), one of the key priorities of Insurance Division, making this a role that matters.

Our vision is to make Lloyds Banking Group the best bank for customers. As the UK's largest retail and commercial bank, we have a footprint that touches nearly every community and household in the UK. That gives us a big responsibility to support the UK economy, and to put customers at the heart of everything we do. To achieve this, we also need to be the best bank for our colleagues and our communities - and we have a clear strategy in place to make this a reality. We are building on our many strengths: iconic brands, strong heritages and great people. To unlock the great potential in our business, we are becoming more efficient, more transparent, and more responsive to customers. Already the UK's largest community investor, we are giving even more back. Above all, we are putting customers first.

At Lloyds Banking Group, Insurance Division, the Valuation Control (Middle Office) team is tasked with overseeing £100bn+ of investment assets from illiquid assets (loans, property, private equity, OTC derivatives) to more liquid bonds, equities and collective investment schemes.

This exciting new role will support the rapidly evolving insurance investment strategy (optimising the return on the annuity investment portfolio), one of the key priorities of Insurance Division, making this a role that matters.

In this role you will manage the Insurance Finance and Operations aspects of new business/product development and implementation for all investment assets strategies (including OTC derivatives and illiquid loans) proposed for execution by IS&E. You'll work closely with IS&E to perform an initial impact assessment of proposed transactions as compared to existing valuation, operational and financial capability and advise IS&E on impact of new trade features on feasibility of speedy execution to assist IS&E to determine business that will deliver the most significant impact in shortest time frames.

You'll also define trade bookings for structured business to achieve the desired economic outcome, document trade features and key components to enable other stakeholders to understand the details of the trade and the impact on their respective areas, maintain a log of proxy bookings and associated risks and liaise with appropriate risk groups to ensure individual and consolidated risks are documented, understood and managed.

In addition you'll project manage and drive the end-to-end execution of new transactions, provide written content for use in key governance and approval papers, such as Reporting Treatment Papers (RTP) and Group Minimum Standards 9 (GMS9) for material one-off transactions, assist in prioritisation of activity with both IS&E, Finance and Operations stakeholders and perform post trade implementation reviews.

Given the nature of the role and its requirements it's essential you have a graduate level education with relevant qualifications (e.g. accountancy, consultancy, financial markets or actuarial) with investment assets specialism and a deep knowledge of valuations and risk management, ideally from an asset management or investment banking background.

You'll need a strong knowledge of structured business, with excellent stakeholder management experience and ability to deal with senior stakeholders across a wide range of areas, most notably IS&E, actuarial, finance, operations and risk.

Good project management skills with a track record of delivering initiatives and strong documentation skills, with an ability to document technical material in an easily digestible form for consumption by a variety of stakeholders, including third party administrators would be a real bonus.

In return we offer a fantastic benefits package, a flexible working environment and as this is a new and growing team the opportunity to advance your career in one of the UK's biggest financial institutions.

So if you have the drive, skills and knowledge we are looking for we would like to hear from you…
