My client are a well established West Sussex firm looking for an outstanding Financial Accountant.

Description

The Financial Accountant will:

  • Manage, coach and develop a team (inc. recruitment, performance reviews/management).
    • Manage outsourced service providers, ensure the delivery is timely, to a high standard and within budget.
    • Ensure the financial statements and analysis are accurate monthly and completed in-line with Corporate's timetable / guidelines

    • Complete / contribute towards high quality, accurate and detailed balance sheet reconciliations monthly, and balance sheet flux analysis quarterly, in-line with Corporate's timetable / guidelines.

    • Provide assistance for internal audits, ensuring compliance with AE's global standards and policies.

    • Journal preparation and posting.

    • Calculation of other accruals.

    • Bad debt calculation.

    • Payroll accounting and reconciliation.

    • Holiday accruals.

    • Calculation of sales commissions.

    • Ensure staff expense claims are processed timely and challenge any which aren't aligned with Corporate / regional policy. Ensure any staff advances remain current.

    • Effectively manage the relationship with the Shared Service Centre in China maximising their capabilities and process efficiency.

    • Support the External Reporting & Tax Manager:-

    • Management of accurate and timely posting of invoices / journals.

    • Resolution of external audit queries.

    • Analysing / reporting VAT / Intrastat / EC Sales position.

    • Posting of GAAP translation journals in SAP.

    • Support the Analyst:-

    • Management of accurate and timely posting of invoices / journals.

    • Support the regional transactional processing team.

  • Stand in for the Finance Manager in their absence.

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will fulfil the following criteria:

  • Qualified in Accountancy (or significant experience) ACCA, CIMA or ICAE&W.

    • 3 years+ experience in accounting / finance.
    • International / European exposure.
    • Working within a manufacturing organisation is preferable.
