Keeping it to a short paragraph, mention any accounting qualifications you hold plus some of your strengths, linking them to the role of a management accountant.

Example:

While studying towards my ACCA qualification I developed my financial analysis and reporting skills as an assistant accountant. Now, with a full qualification, two years of experience as an assistant accountant and a further five as a management accountant, I am looking for a new role to which I can apply my excellent financial analysis skills, team leadership qualities and commercial acumen.

Professional Qualifications

As well as your accounting qualification, consider listing any other courses or qualifications you may have taken that are applicable to the role of a management accountant.

Key Skills

A bullet point list of the skills you have developed while working in accounting. Ensure you link generic skills such as communication or team leadership to the role of a management accountant and state how they have contributed to your success.

Example:

  • Ability to draw meaningful analysis and suggest business improvements from large volumes of complex financial data, developed over seven years of preparing various reports for senior management and the wider business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills developed as a result of preparing a monthly executive report sent to senior management at Barclays.

Work Experience

Starting with your current or most recent job and working backwards chronologically, list the names, locations and dates of your previous employment. Also include a bullet point list of your main duties in each role.
