Chief Finance Officer
East Midlands
Six figure basic & executive incentive programme 

 

Operating as part of the airline's executive management team, you will be based at East Midlands Airport and report directly to the CEO. You will sit on the board and also assume the role of company secretary.

Role description

The role incorporates planning, managing and controlling all finance activities, including budgeting, management reporting, hedging, investor and stakeholder relationships, costing and accounting, property management and compliance. You will:

• Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions within the company
• Ensure timely reporting of company financial performance, trends and forecasts to management and the board
• Manage all currency and fuel hedging, project finance and banking affairs for the company
•Lead capex planning, business case financial reviews and financial management of projects
• Establish, maintain and build strong relationships with key stakeholders and internal and external partners
• Ensure effective internal controls are in place and that the company fully complies with all statutory and industry reporting and corporate governance requirements
• Work in partnership with all departments to identify their needs and ensure the finance function is appropriately aligned to partner the business operations

Who we're looking for

The role requires a graduate calibre qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with demonstrable robust financial management experience at a strategic and operational level. It is critical that, at some point in your career, you will have worked in the aviation industry, preferably within the airline sector. You must be commercially astute and have strong people management skills combined with the ability to operate under pressure in an agile and fluid environment. Strong financial modelling skills and financial planning expertise are essential. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and manage relationships at all levels. As an experienced finance professional it is expected that you will have strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement in your decision making. Experience of integrating businesses and mergers and acquisitions would be advantageous. You must have a high level of personal integrity and dependability allied to a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
