Group Corporate Finance Manager

Our client is a FTSE250 company with international industrial operations and over £1 billion turnover that has grown organically as well as through a major recent overseas acquisition. The Group’s development together with increasing central demands has led to a requirement for a “wing man/woman” to support the Group Finance Director and pick up on a broad range of project based activities across the range of his areas of responsibility. As a member of a very small HQ team, in this high profile role you will report to the Group FD and will work closely with everyone located at the centre, including the Group MD, Deputy FD and Company Secretary. Project work will cover the ad hoc as well as supporting M&A (financial modelling, co-ordination, financial due diligence, etc). The Group is always exploring opportunities. You will also, et al, provide support on investor relations activities and be involved in the planning (but not execution!) of internal audit, the execution of which is outsourced. You are most likely to be an ACA and could already be working in a similar HQ project based Group Finance Manager, Financial Analysis or Corporate Finance type role or be a Senior Manager seeking a move out of a Big 4 firm. With a high level of intellect, you will be a self-starter and good problem solver and lateral thinker, capable of working through a solution with limited guidance. You will have a good grasp of the relationship between financial accounting and related performance measurement and be able to manage multiple concurrent activities. Success in this high profile role could well lead to a move to a line role in due course. You will need to be flexible to travel internationally for short periods when necessary. Located Essex/Herts border, close to M25/M11. The salary is flexible/negotiable subject to experience to attract the right individual, the figures indicated being a broad guideline range.
