This client is one of the top retail giants in Europe, with a reputation second to none in both branches and a growing online presence. With the latter in mind, a significant investment is underway to carve out an IT systems overhaul across the group. Due to this investment, an exciting role has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager, to sup[port the FC and key stakeholders, being the pivotal cog to help meet and deliver financial budgets and objectives. This will be a broad-based role, with an opportunity to have a significant and long-lasting impact across the business to direct stakeholders.

The key responsibilities will include;

  • Provide Business Parnering support to the systems team as the key point of contact
  • Prepare and review detailed budgets / forecasts for all related areas of the project, including capital and revenue spend
  • preparation and presentation of monthly cost review packs on performance of the project to key stakeholders including Directors and the Group Financial Controller
  • Production of regular cost review packs to present to budget holder, including their own cost trackers, identifying and exploring variances and tracking the resource spend
  • review and monitor the benefit case associated with the system implementation
  • Ensure financial controls are in place and expense prodcedures are adhered to
  • Work with other areas of the business to provide latest system forecats and assist in senior board presentations
  • Manage and fully develop 2 Finance Analysts
  • Provide adhoc commercial support to the Financial Controller as and when required

The successful candidate will be;

  • Fully qualified CIMA / ACA / ACCA with significant post-qualification experience in a business partnering capacity, ideally with a foucs on implementation of IT systems in a purely finance context - NOT IT.
  • A track record of delivering project to cost and deadlines, within a business partnering capacity
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrable influencing skills and an ability to develop strong working relationships with non-finance personnel.
