My client, a Global Billion Dollar Professional Services Organisation, is actively seeking a Financial Project Accountant.
Essentially the purpose of the Project Accountant is of the Management and project accounting delivery for multiple engineering projects - Providing financial support to the Project Management Team, Communication of project information to internal and external stakeholders, which includes clients and senior management.
Project Accounting Key Responsibilities inc;
- Preparation and issue of sales invoices for multiple projects, across business units.
- Creation of project/task structures in Oracle accounting system, enabling cost and sales bookings effectively and promptly, whist updating budgets and controls as appropriate.
- Regular reconciliation and contract ledger maintenance tasks to ensure contract cost and sales data is accurate.
- Work to tight deadlines built in to the monthly fiscal cycle of work.
- Provide project financial information and reports to project teams on a regular basis.
- Communication with branch offices across the globe in regards to cross booking costs in multiple currencies.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operation Practices and Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Preparation of weekly and monthly reports as required by line manager and by project teams.
- Attendance at project meetings as required.
- Provide support to accounting management for reporting, reconciliations and troubleshooting to meet deadlines
Project Accounting Key Requirements inc;
- A pro-active individual with willingness to communicate ideas for improvement.
- Familiarity with a Financial System and Intermediate Excel.
- Great communication skills with the ability to interact with Senior Management.
- A self-starter with a determination to get the job done, whilst maintaining a meticulous approach to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage conflicting deadlines
- Previous experience working within a Billing Environment/Industry desirable but not essential
