It's about sharing common priorities for improvement and embracing our Trust values – kind, safe and excellent – not only in caring for our patients but also respecting each other as individuals and working together as colleagues

The Role

Opportunities now exist to join the organisation in a senior role, reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance and Divisional Directors in providing overall leadership and direction to two or more divisions, comprising a range of corporate support and/or clinical specialities with a combined expenditure budget of circa £130m and approximately 1800 WTE. You will have the gravitas to manage relationships with the clinicians and take responsibility for providing highly complex and business focused advice. You will also be responsible for developing and managing a team of Finance Managers and Finance Analysts ensuring a comprehensive and efficient service is provided to Directors, senior managers and business stakeholders at all times

The role includes specific responsibility for the regular reporting of financial and non-financial performance management information, supporting the development of the Trusts Annual Plan and Divisional Business Plans. This will include developing plans with commissioners, analysing complex business opportunities, to develop business cases, along with the identification and reporting of efficiency savings. The DHF will lead the annual financial planning and budget setting process for their divisions, advising on short, medium and long term strategic, financial and business planning issues. You will also act as the lead financial specialist within the Divisions and Transformation Programme providing financial expertise, divisional insight and challenge to the overall direction and progress of each programme.

The Candidate

Ideally you will be a qualified accountant with a background of experience in the NHS, or other large organisations, where you will have worked as a business partner working at a strategic level with the organisation or a division. Strong communication skills are vital, particularly when dealing with non-financial staff, also the ability to build relationships across the organisation, which will inspire confidence and trust within the division. Your track record will clearly demonstrate experience in a healthcare or other complex environment and your ability to influence business stakeholders.
