Watson Fuels (soon to be known as WFL UK Limited) is based in Brinkworth, near Swindon, Chippenham and Malmesbury in Wiltshire. The Company was formed in 1957 with just one tanker and has grown over the years and now employs c.700 people, has 44 depots throughout England, a fleet of more than 300 tankers and an annual turnover in excess of £1 billion.                    

This success is based upon providing high quality service to meet customers' needs. This approach has seen Watson grow to become the second largest supplier of fuels to homes, industry and farms in the UK. Other services provided include boiler maintenance, lubricants and fuel payment cards.

Are you a Finalist, Newly Qualified or someone who has qualified as an Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) in the past 2 years, either from Practise or

Industry, looking for an interesting and exciting role in a fast paced Commercial Business?

Due to continued business expansion, Henlee Resourcing has been retained to recruit a talented accountant on a permanent basis.

Key Activities / Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the monthly accounting process
  • Produce monthly management pack containing key variance analysis and supporting commentary
  • Managing the accruals and prepayments to ensure accurate recording of all spend and overhead costs
  • Be proactive in looking for ways to improve and shorten the month end process
  • Produce monthly reporting and analysis for all cost centres
  • Provide challenge to cost centre owners and proactively identify opportunities to add value to the business
  • Develop KPI reporting and analysis to proactively manage overheads, ensuring greater transparency of spend.
  • Provide key business reports.
  • Challenge the norm and recommend decisions that can add value to the Business.
  • Work with budget holders to assist in the creation a robust annual budget monthly latest estimate for overheads, challenging assumptions and identifying key risks and opportunities and comparison to action.
  • Provide support to the wider finance team.

Personal Attributes / Qualifications:

  • Educated to Degree Level or equivalent.
  • Newly qualified accountant, finalist or 0-2 years PQE (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) - from Practice or Industry.
  • Strong excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups.
  • Good customer and cross functional interface capabilities.
  • Good communication and team skills.
  • Attention to detail without losing the bigger picture.
  • Ability to work to strict reporting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, driven and ambitious.
  • Diligent/ conscientious.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and activities.
