Role Overview

We’re currently looking for a German and English speaking Credit Controller to work in our Finance department at our Cheltenham head office. Reporting to our Credit Control Manager, you will be responsible for the proactive management of credit with our key customers in Germany.

The ideal candidate will have proven previous credit control experience, be an excellent communicator, who is highly organised, adaptable to change, IT literate in advanced Excel, with an excellent eye for detail. You will need to be able to work under pressure and have excellent negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

The key accountabilities of the role will be:

  • Chase debt by telephone and email and reducing debtor days.
  • Allocate payments in accordance with customer remittances.
  • Process and generate reminder letters and monthly statements.
  • Liaise with the sales and accounts receivable teams to resolve outstanding queries.
  • Ensure that all major accounts are worked to the agreed order to cash cycle.
  • Input into month end reporting and account reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolving queries relating to non-payment of invoices.
  • Work to strict monthly and annually collections targets.

What we’re looking for

To be considered, you must have:

  • Essential Fluent in Business German/ English (written and verbal)
  • Significant Credit control experience
  • Be ICM qualified or be studying towards an ICM qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a finance department with exposure to credit control
  • Customer focused & experience of managing customers
  • A keen focus on targets and results
  • Excellent Excel skills
