Assistant Accountant

New opportunity to join a growing business as Assistant Accountant, supporting the Financial Accountant. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day running of the accounts payable ledger including both manual and electronic processing of invoices and assist in the production of monthly accounts.

Responsibility

- Responsible for daily cashbooks and bank reconciliation

- Accounts payable- Invoice administration and monthly payment runs

- Account management for key accounts

- Stock analysis and reporting

- Month end duties inc. accruals, prepayments & nominal journal entry

- Other administrative tasks as directed

Skills
- Experience with all aspects of accounts payable
- Using advanced pre-existing Excel spreadsheets
- Creation of intermediate Excel spreadsheets as required
- Proficient in data extraction and manipulation
- Sage experience beneficial but not essential
- Attention to detail and analysis skills
- Quick to learn and willing to undertake new tasks
- Ability to forward plan and take initiative
