Audit Manager - National Retail organisation, £40,000 + Car or Car allowance, + fuel card, + Bonus
The Audit Manager provides a key role in reducing loss to the company by supporting management in identifying risk and minimising exposure across key business processes through the provision of an effective, efficient, and professional audit service and through the detection and investigation of fraud in Head Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and conduct audit assignments based on business risk assessments performed in conjunction with senior management and as directed by the Audit and Investigations Controller. Tasks will include:
*Preparing and agreeing audit scope and aims detailing key risk areas and control objectives.
*Constructing effective risk based audit test programmes to meet aims.
*Maintaining communication with functional management throughout the assignment.
*Conducting effective exit meetings with functional management.
*Supporting management in developing control solutions and action plans.
*Preparing reports and communicating findings and conclusions effectively and in a timely manner.
*Ensuring files and working papers are prepared to departmental standard to support work performed.
Identify Head Office internal fraud and theft through the analysis of corporate financial and operational data using current data mining techniques.
Conduct Head Office investigations ensuring performed in a fair, consistent and professional manner by adhering to Employment/Criminal Law.
Maintain relationships with the business, in particular the Accounting Centre management team.
Conduct quarterly business risk assessments in conjunction with Accounting Centre management in order to identify areas of loss (or potential loss) providing a basis for ongoing assignments
Provide support to business functions in order to improve controls and minimise loss. Respond in an efficient and effective manner to business requests.
Develop and maintain professional standards of operation taking into account company policy and legislative changes
SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Possess a high level of technical knowledge/experience re risk and control frameworks including a detailed understanding and application of modern audit methods and techniques (corporate and IT).
Possess/be studying towards a relevant recognised qualification (CIMA, ACCA, IIA, ACA). PQ minimum.
