The National Osteoporosis Society is the only UK wide charity dedicated to improving the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and fragility fractures.

The charity was established in 1986 and has since grown into a well-respected national charity with over 25,000 members, 56 staff and more than 900 volunteers across the UK.

We are looking for an experienced and business orientated Commercial and Finance Director who can bring both tight financial control and entrepreneurial flair to the charity at this exciting time of growth and development. You will be as much a part of ensuring good financial management as shaping the strategy of the charity and helping it to grow income now and in the future.

As the new Commercial and Finance Director your key responsibilities will be:

  • Work with the Chief Executive and the Board to generate and develop commercial ideas and new business opportunities and their associated risks.
  • Oversee the commercial negotiations, contracts, agreements, tenders and pricing ensuring that there are effective systems to support procurement and service development opportunities.
  • Deliver commercial income against target
  • Overall responsibility for the Finance function and provision of financial advice and accounting services for the Charity. This includes financial systems, financial accounting, management accounting, forecasting, business plans, budgeting and control systems.
  • Financial governance and assurance

You will need to be a fully qualified CCAB accountant with a proven track record of commercial success. As an experienced leader, you will be good at building working relationships and making a strategic contribution beyond your areas of expertise particularly around the charity’s agenda of increasing non-fundraised income.

If you are looking for a new and exciting role in the Charity Sector and feel you have the talent and determination to succeed in such an organisation, register your interest by contacting Nicola Shaw.
