Our client is a dream employer, I wish I had ten more like them. They have a flawless business model, having just merged two outstanding companies to form a group with the most ideal synergies one could imagine.
They are now building out the new corporate structure and are looking for a divisional financial controller, with some experience in a regulated environment, possably banking who has a can do friendly attitude with the polish that comes from having been in a finance function of a financial institution.
You should have a go getting attitude and still be easy to work with, your ability to lead a team should not preclude you from being lead and managed by the highly constrctive and gifted team above you.
Your credibility in the board room dealing with senior management will stand you in good stead as will your ability to roll your sleaves up and ensure that the work of your team is also your work.

Overall responsibility and Job Purpose
Responsible for the company's financial accounting, reporting and control activities across the Group to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Support the development, effectiveness and accurate documentation of financial processes and controls.
- On-going responsibility to ensure all accounting controls are operating effectively by ensuring data entry, tracking and analysis are delivered to required accuracy standards and timeframes.
- Using a financial control framework, including financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control.
- Act as the main point of contact to external auditors and provide all required information.
- Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that group policies are followed.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including review and control of the general ledger, debtors, creditors and banking functions.
- Ensuring that transfer pricing is accurately reflected in the books
- Manage the processing of all income and expenditure; manage and control expenses.
Statutory and Regulatory Reporting
- Preparation of annual statements - review and sign off of the financial statements and regulatory filings
- Coordination of all audit efforts with service providers and external auditors.
- Manage new and existing regulatory requirements where appropriate and incorporate them into the financial and management accounts.
Management Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist the CFO and Head of Finance with the preparation of the detailed annual budget and forecasts.
- Develop and own a financial model capturing key drivers of financial performance and capital requirements and preparing sensitivity analyses.
- Cash-flow production and maintenance
- Liaise closely with the group finance function and prepare accounts for consolidation purposes.
Systems
- Development of an accounting and finance system for
- Ensure the robustness of all finance systems taking into account any required enhancements and upgrades required.
Tax:
- Preparation of tax returns
Experience & Knowledge
- Fully qualified Accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Previous experience within a similar position
- Experience to include budgeting and modelling, costing and pricing, and complex reporting
- Sound and up to date knowledge of UKGAAP
