Senior Financial Accountant

Our client is a multi-national organisation with assets worth over £5bn. They have a history of outperforming the market in each of their operating sectors and are currently undergoing a period of new funding schemes and strategic initiatives to increase their market presence.

This is a newly created position which will provide accounting support by managing the Treasury function, maintaining the integrity of the accounting ledgers, working on the year-end financial statements and dealing with internal and external auditors.

Key accountabilities will include:

• Responsible for the monthly preparation of operational cash forecasts Preparation of the annual Group statutory accounts, including liaison with the external auditors and other statutory returns throughout the year. Providing support to the Control and FP&A teams over a wide range of technical accounting queries, including Investments and financial analysis. Provide support to the outsourced internal audit function, including follow-up reporting and budget management. Responsible for the preparation of the Monthly Management Information Packs for the Head of Finance and CFO, ensuring its quality, accuracy, timeliness and completeness. To undertake any other ad hoc projects as required from time to time

The successful candidate will be a technically sound qualified accountant with experience of working in a top-tier accounting firm with experience of accounts preparation and complex consolidation. Exposure at group level of a blue-chip company would be beneficial however not required. This role requires an individual with the ability to think laterally, use their own initiative as well as be part of a team but also be independent of thought.
