Salary package: £52,120 - £78,180 (target salary £65,150) + car + bonus + benefits

It makes this an exciting time to join us - especially because you'll be helping to deliver the future strategy for our Financial Planning Division along with getting exposure to this critically important area of the Business.

This role is contributing towards the Group's Corporate Plan as well as internal and regulatory Stress Testing within the Financial Performance division of Nationwide. The information and reports that your team will produce are highly prolific and will go to the board and Executive Committees (ExCo). To build these reports you'll need to work with our key stakeholders across the business understanding the assumptions and challenging where appropriate.

You'll need;
* a degree-level education in a highly numerate subject as well as strong analytical abilities and excellent written skills, ideally combined with a relevant professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
* prior experience of operating as a Senior Finance Business Partner.
* experience in the Financial Services sector will also be highly valuable.
* excellent team management will need to be combined with the confidence and credibility to build relationships throughout Nationwide.
* to influence colleagues at the highest level together with strong communication skills and the ability to convey difficult technical issues to a broad range of recipients.

What you'll be doing

Our Corporate Plan sets out what Nationwide's strategy is over the next 5 years, i.e. how we return money to our members. You'll be reviewing and reporting on the financial performance of the Society and contributing to the decision making and strategic direction of the business.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, you'll be heading up a team of finance professionals, responsible for the delivery of financial management activities to maintain and deliver our Corporate objectives. This will require making best use of the skills of the team, and focusing their efforts to ensure their experience is utilised with a best practice approach to both enhance and support successful and substantial improvements in business performance. You will be the Senior Finance Business Partner to the Corporate Development & Risk divisions working closely with the respective Divisional Director and the Senior Management Team.

Your team will be heavily involved in forecasting, taking data sets and producing trends/ variance analysis, analysis on actuals v Plan, ratios and KPI's, accompanied with excellent commentary and insightful recommendations. As well as Corporate Development and Credit Risk, your key stakeholders will include the Mortgages, Savings finance teams to name a few.

From looking at the data, your team will to need to build a story that supports the Financial Plan, you'll then produce presentations for senior executives and the board with insightful commentary, information on our assumptions and recommendations to drive the business in meeting the Group objectives.
