Corporate Finance Manager
£60,000 - £75,000
Purpose of the role
The main focus of this role is to take ownership of and manage the funding and finance process for a variety of projects. The projects will range from £5m - £60m.
The Corporate Finance Manager will work closely with the wider finance and transaction teams to provide an efficient approach within a fast-paced environment. You will be required to demonstrate and apply a strong commercial acumen to funding activities, based on experience within the utilities sector.
This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to add a great deal of value to a growing business, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business in this newly created role.
Key Accountabilities
- Creating and maintaining bespoke, complex and robust financial models to support finance raising activities.
- Conducting investment appraisal analysis and bottom-up financial modelling for numerous projects at any one time.
- Evaluating finance options and making informed recommendations for each project; being mindful of banking covenants, profit and loss, and cash flow implications and impacts.
- Managing the bank/finance sourcing tender process; providing executive team with informed recommendations.
- Responsible for the due diligence process; ensuring the financial outputs of financial due diligence conducted on target assets are accurate and reliable.
- Supporting the due diligence and transaction activities by creating solutions that take into account cost drivers and the relationships between activities.
- Liaising confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactively managing funding projects; setting deadlines and ensuring delivery against them, tracking progress and providing timely, informative updates to key stakeholders as appropriate.
- Using initiative to support colleagues through anticipating requirements and making provisions for them.
Requirements
- A strong corporate finance background, supported by a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA , CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant experience of project finance within the utilities sector, including the responsibility of running the tender process.
- Significant experience in developing and adapting robust financial models within MS Excel.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- High level of computer literacy, especially MS Excel.
- High level of commercial acumen.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to flourish within a fast paced transactional environment.
