A truly unique opportunity has arisen to play a leading role in the strategic development of this high profile Charity.  Incorporated by Royal Charter, Motability is responsible for directing and overseeing the Motability Scheme & ensuring it continues to enhance the lives of disabled people in the UK through the provision of affordable mobility, supported by an exceptional customer service.  The scheme is operated by Motability Operations, a commercial company that operates the Scheme under contract to Motability, and currently provides enhanced mobility to more than 600,000 disabled people in the UK.
 
In order to sustain the ongoing success of the Scheme, the Charity needs to plan for the challenges of the coming decades.  As a result, a highly talented and strategic Finance and Planning Director is required both to provide inspirational leadership internally whilst also contributing substantially to the development of the Charity’s future roadmap.
 
Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Board of Governors, your specific responsibilities will include:
 
•    Leadership and development of finance, planning, IT and governance departments
•    Contribute to the strategic evolution of the Charity as part of the Executive Team
•    Oversight of the financial performance and direction of the Motability Scheme
•    Provide quality financial and strategic advice to the Trustees both in relation to the Charity and to the      Scheme
•    Create a service culture based on open collaboration & engagement
•    Identify and deliver opportunities to bring simplicity and pragmatism to processes & procedures
•    Deputise for the Director as required, in particular at external stakeholder meetings & events
 
The successful candidate will bring a breadth of complimentary attributes and competencies.  In particular:
 
•    Fully qualified accountant, or experienced MBA
•    An experienced leader with an impactful and engaging style
•    Ideally a mix of charity, public and private sector experience
•    Evidence of strong strategic input and capability
•    Track record of core finance transformation & development
•    Exceptional & diverse stakeholder management capability
•    Natural ability to inspire confidence in and influence others
