My client is a substantial privately owned diversified energy group whose principal activities are in Kurdistan and include Oil  & Gas production, Power Generation and Refinery Operations and is one of the largest privately owned companies in Erbil, Kurdistan. Certain of its Oil and Gas Production are converting to Production Sharing Contracts  ("PSC"), and needs to modify its ERP Systems (Sage Pastel Evolution) accordingly to meet this challenge. You will be reporting to the British CFO.

The PSC Accountant will  establish group policies and procedures for PSC Reporting and set up Accounting and Reporting procedures across our different multi-site business units, sku management, Standard Costing etc. The incumbent will then train local staff, set up monthly, periodic and ad hoc reporting structures.

It is thought that the post will last for 6 months followed by up to 5 days a month retainer thereafter.

Rotation  20 days in country and 10 days off.

  • Working from the Production Sharing Contract, build an investment model for stakeholders
  • Agree Report Formats in English and Arabic
  • Define  Chart of Accounts within existing ERP Company Reporting
  • Set up Recording Procedures and Record Keeping ensuring maximum recoverability 
  • Train existing staff in New Procedures
  • Design Input Reports
  • Review Inputs are in accordance with Plan
  • Design Management Reporting to Industry standards/Contract
  • Report to Management Monthly 3 Months
  • Remote Monitoring & Supervision once set up.

The person we are looking for will be an English and Arabic -speaking accountant, who is a self-starter, experienced in ERP systems (especially Sage Pastel Evolution) in either manufacturing or oil and gas sectors. Arabic highly desirable, but not essential. Available to begin work at short notice.
