Accountant. Our client, a Leicester based Accountancy Practice has engaged Paul Mitchell Associates to recruit an AAT Qualified or Part Qualified or Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant to join its team on a Permanent basis. You must possess experience in preparing accounts for GP practices (Doctors). Being career minded, enthusiastic, professional in your approach, you will report to a Manager or Partner and be expected to carry out the following;

* Preparation of year end accounts for Doctors (G.P. practices)
* Working papers for Sole Traders and partnerships on EXCEL
* Preparation / review of partnership and personal tax computations
* Pension certificates
* Calculating partnership profit sharing ratios
* Managing a portfolio of clients with regular client contact
* Management accounts and forecasting for clients
* VAT returns
* Work closely with colleagues in meeting group goals
* Ensuring training is undertaken to keep Sage and other software knowledge up to date

* Experience OF preparing and reviewing accounts for the medical sector
* An accounting qualification or be qualified by experience
* A professional approach with a proven ability to communicate with clients, managers / partners and junior staff
* A good knowledge of partnership and personal tax
* Knowledge of IRIS GP and Sage would be advantageous
* Business and tax planning experience would be highly advantageous
The ideal candidate will be a part or fully qualified accountant having gained proven experience in preparing GP Practice accounts, personal tax returns, and pension certificates. An understanding of the complexities of GP payroll would be an advantage.

You will thrive under pressure, working to strict time schedules and have the ability to multi-task, whilst demonstrating your flexibility as part of a dedicated team of experts at the firm in their growing Medical Sector services.

This is a great chance to showcase your excellent planning and organising skills, strong communication skills, innovative thinking and initiative. You will need a good working knowledge of Sage accounts and payroll, and preferably IRIS GP accounts, and be competent with Word and Excel.

This role is very much for a senior person who is self motivated and who is happy to lead and train a team and capable of making presentations.
