We are looking for someone who can lead a finance team that can support the business by strengthening core business performance and developing new services.
The ideal candidate is someone with a rare blend of capabilities including team leadership, technical accounting, corporate governance, financial reporting, risk management and systems. As someone who can effectively act as the guardian of the bottom line, your task will be to develop the team and execute a plan that supports colleagues. providing a best in sector finance function that drives the business to greater profitability and improved charitable outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership - Lead and develop the finance team
- Executive Team – play a pivotal role in setting strategic direction and delivering our business plan
- Month End - Manage the delivery of high quality monthly management reporting that delivers actionable insight to our divisional directors and their commercial staff
- Year End - Manage the planning and delivery of the year end audit in line with appropriate and relevant accounting standards, in conjunction with the external auditors
- Forecasting - Co-ordinate the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts process
- Charities Commission & Corporate Governance– Deliver against all requirements
- Accounting - Ensure all accounts payable, receivable, expenses, payroll systems are operating effectively and in line with internal and external customer needs
- IT Provision – Lead in the sourcing and performance of IT services
- Qualifications and Attributes:
- Strong technical accounting skills and financial acumen, with a clear understanding of key business drivers and how to manage against them
- A strong leader with the ability to shape and support the finance team to develop the finance service as a force for improved organisational performance
- An enquiring mind, with sound analytical and systems skills
- Able to deliver to tight deadlines whilst still maintaining the integrity and quality of the outputs
- Qualified ACA or ACCA, solid and varied PQ experience, ideally covering both professional services and charity sectors

We are seeking a Finance Director who wishes to have a pivotal role within the executive team, build financial understanding across the management team and help MOLA strengthen and expand its core commercial services business while maximising opportunities for our charitable activities.
This is an exciting, wide-ranging, challenging role which will attract strong team-players who can think strategically, manage carefully and lead thoughtfully. The successful candidate is likely to have board level experience but exceptional candidates looking for their first director position should not be put off from applying if they poses many of the skills and attributes which we outline in our job description.
