As Head of Finance, the senior professional for finance, you will be responsible for leading our financial and procurement function, reporting to the Director of Resources and Customer Services. Clearly, as an independent regulator we need to demonstrate value for money and ensure efficient and effective financial and procurement systems. Through a rigorous budgeting process linked with the corporate planning process, you will be central to ensuring the resilience and cost effectiveness of our finances to deliver our core function of protecting the public.

The Role

• Ensure the financial operations conform to all statutory requirements and codes of best professional practice.

• Contribute strategically to the development of the GPhC and pharmacy regulation by providing financial input into:

   – the efficiency and cost effectiveness of regulation;

   – assessing the impact and burden of regulation on those the GPhC regulates.

• Take responsibility and develop the procurement function, complying with best practice and legislation.

Key Requirements

• Qualified accountant.

• Significant post-qualification experience with ability to demonstrate success within an organisation with a diverse range of functions.

• Sound knowledge of financial management principles, procurement and business planning processes.

• Substantial leadership experience and a collegiate working style, able to influence at all levels.
