Our client, a market leading Medical Technology Company, is currently looking to recruit a talented and ambitious Finance and Business Support Manager who will work closely with the UK Managing Director. The business has recently been taken over by a Private Equity firm and following an acquisition in the UK, they are looking for an individual who can help contribute to the UK growth in the lead up to a potential sale of the business within the next couple of years. The position will be responsible for the finance and business operations across the two UK companies, which operate as separate legal entities. This presents an exciting opportunity, with high levels of autonomy and responsibility within the organisation. 

The successful candidate will predominately focus on the efficiency and effectiveness of all parts of the UK business, with a particular focus on the effectiveness of the sales team.As a Business support Manager, you will have responsibility for operations across both of the two organisations, including direct line management of the Head of UK Operations

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overall leadership to the existing accounting function, ensuring proper accounting and control functions for the UK team. Working closely with the UK MD, you will provide support, advice and guidance. 
  • Ensure that the management team, particularly the UK MD and key stakeholders across the organisation, are supported by appropriate critical business analysis, reflecting on the economic and financial conditions, ensuring that country performance is compared against the operating plan.
  • Deliver transparent financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting aligned with the needs and expectations of key internal stakeholders.
  • Produce monthly management reports and co-ordinate all external audit activities.
  • Assist in the development of detailed financial models which will support the identification and implementation of appropriate metrics to measure and drive the performance of the business, with a particular focus on sales reporting.
  • Manage operation in the UK, including the management of the UK Head of Operations. 
  • In conjunction with the executive leadership team, identify appropriate Key Performance Indicators and Metrics, and ensure there is effectiveimplementation of Global Standards across the UK team.
  • Within 3-6 months resume full responsibility of the supply chain operations with 2 warehouses and a staff of 9 employees

Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/CIMA) is essential. 
  • A big four background would be highly advantageous 
  • Strong analytical skills; a robust data driven approach is needed in this role
  • An ability to energise cross-functional teams to accomplish a common goal
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • A solid understanding of UK Tax Legislation
