Our client is a FCA regulated private equity investment advisor with its head office based in Cobham. They invest in Agri-sector investments in Southern and East Africa with over $800 million under management.
The role supports the COO and is suited to a highly numerate individual with prior equity fund accounting experience, who wishes to move into a more varied and dynamic role, without the daily commute into central London.
Duties to include:
• Assist in the review of accounts and subsidiary information
• Preparation of bank reconciliation documents
• Prepare and provide supporting documentation for accounts
• Maintain records to monitor cash, payments, recharges, investments etc
• Prepare documentation to transfer cash throughout the Fund
• Ensure settlement of invoices and other payments
• Preparation supporting documentation for quarterly board packs
• Assist in the preparation of forecasts
• Liaison with external administrators
• Assist in compliance monitoring and control
• Assist in annual audit process
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery to agreed timetables and ensure compliance with appropriate accounting standards and other regulations
Skills/Experience:
• Accounting qualification: Qualified with either the ACCA/CIMA/ACA
• 1-2 years’ experience as a fund accountant from a fund administrator or other financial institution with experience of IFRS
• Good knowledge of the private equity industry
• Experience in an FCA regulated business
• Experience of UK VAT requirements
• Excellent computer skills, in particular Excel, and be highly numerate
• Good communication skills
