Description: Our client is a leading player in the field of cost-centre outsourcing, focused particularly on SME's and VC backed international entities. They become their clients' in-house EMEA and Asia-Pacific departments, providing operational divisions including: Accounting, Banking, Payments, HR and Payroll, Taxation, Company Secretarial, IT and Administration. Currently employing a specialist team of circa 40 talented staff and growing rapidly, they seek a Senior Accountant to enhance their team. The role will be based in their busy Godalming office.

The Senior Accountant will be involved in providing outsourced accounting services to a broad range of corporate clients from many territories and industries. The Senior Accountant will be exposed to many challenges and experiences normally only encountered working for one of the Big 4. The Senior Accountant will be required to work closely with his or her clients and their team through every stage of the client's development - to create set-up procedure for a new business, to adapt an existing business reporting structure to the client's requirements, to merge Charts of Accounts post-merger - these are examples of the what the Senior Accountant's day may involve. The overriding requirement for the Senior Accountant is to provide the level of support to our clients that they would expect from their own in-house teams.

Principle Accountabilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Review and production of management accounts
  • Set-up of accounting reporting packs for new clients
  • Approving of supplier and employee payment runs
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns
  • Compiling statutory accounts
  • Production and advice on monthly cash flows
  • Auditor liaison and audit support
  • Responsibility for all accounting requirements for your own client portfolio
  • Answering client queries and advising on specific accounting matters
  • Consultancy projects

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Behaviours of the Senior Accountant:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA or ACCA with 3+ years PQE
  • Familiar with UK reporting requirements and the business tax environment
  • IT literate with strong excel skills
  • Experience of working with a number of accounting packages
  • Experience of Sage Line 50 preferable but not essential
  • Experience of working in a multi-company, or multi-client environment would be
