Group Head of Commercial Finance

ABPM as experts in financial recruitment are assisting our client an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing, multi-site retail business with a well branded name. Due to a recent restructure within their Finance team, the board and Finance Director are seeking a Group Head of Commercial Finance to report directly to the senior management team and board whilst closely reviewing the broader management team.

The focus of the Group Head of Commercial Finance will be to provide financial input to the commercial side of the business split across business partnering, commercial reporting and improving processes and controls.

Duties Include:

*Providing high quality commercial decision support to the senior leadership team
*Acting as a finance business partner to the Sales & Marketing and Commercial teams to drive revenue growth across the business
*Supporting the sales team to prepare bid terms and pricing in line with the five year plan
*Working with other functions to set and analyse budgets and drive reliable cost information
*Producing regular management information including dashboard and monthly board reporting of deal pipeline, capacity and yield / returns
*Managing the commercial forecasting process to align it with the group budgeting and planning cycles
*Review and develop the commercial reporting process, controls and content, to ensure best practice and to support changing business requirements
*Develop and maintain the group pricing policy
*Provide an independent view on all commercial decision and support in driving value enhancement in commercial negotiations
*Operate and chair the weekly commercial review meeting and give input to commercial decisions to the executive and senior management teams
*Support the board in the preparation of financial analysis and financial business cases for major investment decisions

This is a commercial, highly visible, business critical role in an organisation experiencing growth driven change. Applicants should be fully qualified accountants (preferably Big 4 ACA qualified) with strong financial analysis and data interpretation skills.

The Group Head of Commercial Finance will be expected to have the ability and gravitas to communicate effectively within the business and externally with financial and non-financial individuals.

As a result, all applicants should possess strong commercial acumen, with a forward-thinking approach to business support and the ability to manage a range of complex issues and projects simultaneously. It is expected that applicants with have excellent financial modelling and system skills (advanced Excel a must), and will have extensive knowledge of management accounting, controls and reporting, including financial planning and analysis.
