Working alongside the MD, the Financial Controller will be an accomplished accountant and will need to be hands on with company finances. You will be commercially aware, advising on the best path of growth for the business.
Our Financial Controller/Director will have a good understanding of cash flow and will understand the growing needs of our business. The Financial Controller is responsible for reporting to the board monthly on performance and recommendations for growth and improvement.
We are looking for an individual that is going to come on the next stage of our journey. Someone that wants to help us develop and believes in the values of our company and fits in to our senior team
* Work with senior teams to grow the businesses formulating strategies and plans
* Lead and develop finance team
* Establish, monitor and enforce policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate information is provided for decision making and security of cash takings and liaise with external professionals such as Auditors, Banks Invoice Discounting and Purchasing Software.
* Take ownership of payroll and HR function
* Lead and manage the budgeting process
* Overall cash management on an ongoing basis, including weekly cash flow management
* Formulation of annual budgets and targets
* Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters, including audit systems
* Preparation and submission of weekly and monthly updates
* Presentation of annual accounts with recommendations
* Review of accounts and investigation of variances then setting recovery plan
* Capital expenditure - evaluation and preparation of new business submissions
* Insurance/ risk management
* Setting annual cost rates and prices for customers and clients
* Close involvement in commercial negotiations with clients
* Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met including HMRC and Companies House
To be considered for this role you will be a -
* Fully qualified accountant or a qualified by experience accountant with all levels of experience and have -
* Excellent commercial and business experience, including strong cashflow management
* Working in an SME environment that has experienced high growth
* Exceptional communication skills at all levels
* Strong IT skills, always ahead of new technologies
* Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making
