Assistant Finance Manager

London’s Air Ambulance is a charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London, serving the 10 million people who live, work and commute within the M25. Using a helicopter by day and rapid response vehicles by night, it functions as a mobile emergency department in life-threatening, time-critical situations. It takes a truly exceptional team to deliver this world-leading service 365 days a year. Currently, they have a requirement within their finance team to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager.

There are 3 staff members in finance and the charity has a turnover of £4.8 million. The primary responsibility of this post is to support and guide budget-holders/department heads and senior management in their financial management responsibilities. This will include management accounts, budgets and reforecasts. The role also includes other accounting, financial and administrative duties such as overseeing payroll processing and managing supplier relationships. This is a role that will also be involved in projects – for example a planned system upgrade. Furthermore, this is a small finance team and there is an expectation that all team members get involved to achieve targets and to help out where necessary.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a qualified accountant with previous experience of management accounting within a charity. A confident excel user who can operate other IT systems such as Sage and CRM software. Furthermore, you will have strong communication skills and commercial acumen.
