The Business:
My client is a growing and vibrant organisation whose activities focus around research and consultancy. Given the demand for financial support for its ever growing portfolio of projects this new role is being created which will report into the Head of Finance and work very closely with Project Managers to control and report accurately on project costs and ensure the accuracy of funding claims.
The Opportunity:
The successful applicant will work closely with their business areas to provide financial and budgetary analysis and financial planning support. You will support the pricing/costing, bidding and claiming processes for new research funding and contracts, preparing month end accounts for all live contracts and reviewing forecasts. You will have the opportunity to develop business partnering relationships and will be a key member of the research and contracts multi-disciplinary team, with the chance to contribute significantly to the organisations' growth and development. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Finance to implement a new system which will improve the financial management of research contracts and compliance with FRS102. You will be given wide exposure to all aspects of the financial management of the organisation including tax.
What we are looking for:
Ideally part qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA or greater
Experienced in using Excel and financial systems
Management accounting and budgeting experience
A confident and engaging communicator able to work with non-finance people effectively and make finance concepts understandable.
