We have an opportunity for a fully qualified Accountant reporting to the Senior Manager – UK Finance within the Group Finance Team on a permanent basis.

Your purpose (in a nutshell)...
To ensure the group operates a robust system of financial control and act as the expert for all financial control matters, advice and guidance to colleagues within the IPF group.

Key role responsibilities of the Accountant

  • With a process driven mind-set, develop, maintain and carry out review cycles and effective MI. They will use their methodological way of thinking to develop, maintain and audit group standards for performing and reviewing monthly reconciliations.
  • With their pro-active attitude, ensure policies and procedures are continuously updated and used as appropriate in order to ensure consistency of delivery and minimal control risk across the group
  • Use their risk focused mind to ensure material miss-statement in group financial information is minimised and that group governance and financial controls are operating effectively
  • With strong organisational skills, maintain the group controls portal, ensuring that up to date documents are stored in a central place.
  • Using their strong communication and relationship building skills, quickly establish good working relations with the IPF group colleagues and relevant departments outside of finance e.g. Fraud, Field operations, Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk etc...
  • Be flexible to modify and implement changes on the accounting and control procedures to manage impact of any planned product or IT system changes across the Group
  • Be able to utilise their expertise when IPF enters new markets, or makes further acquisitions overseeing the development and implementation of an effective financial controls framework


The successful Accountant candidate will have

  • Recognised accounting qualification [ACA / CIMA / ACCA]
  • Experience of financial control (implementation or audit) in a large organisation
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organisation and time management
  • Analysis and problem solving skills
  • Experience of financial systems review or audit
  • Strong coaching skills
  • A risk focussed mind with an ability to identify and resolve the key issues
  • Fluent English written and verbal communication skills A flexible approach, to ensure reporting deadlines are met and overseas support is delivered as required
  • Strong demonstrable numeracy skills at appropriate level


Regular overseas travel will be required approximately once every four to six weeks.
