About the role
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, this influential role will expose you to many different elements of Sony’s business. Providing accurate annual reporting on local statutory accounts, leading group reporting to headquarters in Tokyo, SOX compliance, managing intercompany transactions, delivering forecasts, preparing presentations for decision-makers; you’ll tackle all this and more.
As a leader, you’ll build a culture of trust, teamwork, and initiative and innovation and ensure the continuing commitment and development of a small team.
You’ll also constantly be helping us to improve our systems and process. If that weren’t challenge enough, there’s so much scope at Sony to diversify and develop in future.
Key Responsibilities & Scope for Decision Making
- Statutory reporting & SOX compliance
- Month-end closing process to Tokyo
- Management of Back Office
- Financial Analysis and Control
- Staff training and management
- Key point of contact for Internal and External Auditors
About you
You’re of graduate calibre and Qualified Chartered Accountant.
You bring extensive experience in finance and accounting experience, ideally in a large, complex and multi-cultural business.
You’ll bring us in-depth understanding of Treasury and derivative products, operations and controls plus excellent knowledge of financial accounting, financial reporting and management accounting.
Sony is fast-paced. You’ll work closely with teams in Tokyo, Singapore and the US, and deal regularly with our affiliates throughout the world, so it’s vital you can hit deadlines and work under pressure. If you’ve been exposed to different currencies, great –You’ll need to convince us you’re happy to work flexibly, dealing confidently with conflicting priorities and changing requirements.
