We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to lead an ongoing programme of finance improvement; and to ensure effective financial planning, management and control.
Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation – a better life now and in the future.
This is an exciting time to join the charity; we have made enormous progress for children in the last few years and have ambitious plans to build on this momentum.
As a Finance team, we have recently implemented a transformation programme and launched a new accounting system. We aim to build a ‘best in sector’ finance function to drive the charity’s performance.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced finance leader to inspire and engage a strong team of finance professionals, and drive the next stage in our journey of finance improvement. You will use strong systems knowledge to ensure that we maximise efficiency and strengthen control. You will also use expert financial analysis skills that will ensure we produce high quality management information and maximise the impact for children of every £ we raise and spend.
About you
You will be a qualified accountant with strong experience in:
- Team leadership
- Financial systems and operations
- Financial planning
- Reporting and analysis.
Ideally, you will already have experience of combining these skills in a Financial Controller role. You will be a confident leader and communicator, able to form effective senior relationships within and outside the organisation.
You will be committed to the aims and values of Save the Children. We are equally open to candidates with experience in the charity sector, and those who would bring skills and insights from outside the sector.
In return we offer the opportunity to make a real difference for millions of children.
In return we offer a competitive sector salary £65,000 (dependent on experience), pension, development, and the opportunity to help develop a ‘best in sector’ finance service to support leaders in the sector to create dramatic change for children.
