Group Finance Director

Our client is a rapidly growing private equity backed retail/ distribution business which plans to grow further both organically and via acquisition.  An international and multi-currency business they are now looking to recruit a highly driven Group FD  ideally with a strong understanding of consumer goods/retail/distribution.  This role acts as a key strategic partner to the CEO and the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all stakeholder relations whilst driving growth across the portfolio of companies. 

Key responsibilities:

• Use sound commercial judgement to challenge key financial decisions, in particular pricing and margin negotiations.

• Lead the finance and management reporting function, supporting the Board through the preparation of budgets and financial reports

• Manage systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances, including the financial control framework

• Ensure business plan is on track and provide commercial insight into any variances

• Development of IT systems and processes

• Ensure robust cash management

• Management of external audit and banking relationships

Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant with previous experience working in a retail/ distribution business where there has been a strong focus on New Product Development and product margins.  Private Equity experience would be useful especially in the context of senior debt, essential is the ability and willingness to ‘get hands dirty’ whilst building the infrastructure needed to support a rapidly growing business.
