Senior Accountant - Treasury Financial Reporting

Introduction

As a Senior Accountant in the Treasury Financial Reporting team, you'll support the Finance Manager to help ensure that financial and regulatory reporting is both accurate and timely, as well as provide analysis that explains the results to Senior Management. You will also be integral to the smooth operation of the control environment as well ensuring key developments are made to make sure that the society is market leading in these areas.

Who we're looking for

You'll need a degree-level education in a highly numerate subject as well as strong analytical abilities and excellent written skills, combined with a relevant professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). You'll have no problem assimilating and interpreting complex regulatory requirements, while your strong communication skills mean you'll be able to convey difficult technical issues to a broad range of recipients. You'll have a proven track record of proactively instigating improvements, delivering to a high standard, on time.

What you'll be doing

This key role is supporting the Finance Manager and working closely with other Treasury and Group Finance teams. You'll ensure the accuracy of the accounting for Treasury financial instruments and the valuations that go into it. You'll be building confidence in the reported results whilst increasing understanding throughout the society of the drivers of volatility. You will assist the Finance Manager in the development of functionality to ensure Nationwide keeps pace with a constantly changing regulatory landscape.
