Regulatory Accountant

Our Finance Team are an integral part of our decision making process and are responsible for analysing risks, providing relevant insight and formulating strategies to drive performance, as well as ensuring we meet all of our obligations as a responsible organisation around reporting and financial transactions.

Each of the divisions of our business has a Finance Director and a team of finance experts aligned to their part of the business to enable Finance to deliver the strategic analysis and support that make them true business partners.

The Regulatory Financial Accountant will support the Investment Services Division of Equiniti (Equiniti Financial Services Ltd) and will be responsible for ensuring Equiniti meets its regulatory capital and reporting requirements as a regulated firm.  They will partner with the business to identify the impact of any regulatory changes on the financial position and ensure that the introduction of new products/markets incorporates the relevant regulatory financial reporting. The role will be based in our Worthing/London offices.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Working with Compliance and the business teams to identify impacts of potential regulatory changes or introduction of new products/markets to the operating model and the relevant reporting cycle.
  • Production of monthly Equiniti Financial Services Ltd (EFSL) Financial Accounts and updated forecast
  • Review monthly results and investigate variances to plan, identifying and highlighting potential risks/shortfalls against delivery of FY target and report to EFSL Board;
  • Assist with production of Annual Statutory Accounts;
  • Prepare EFSL annual budget and transfer pricing arrangements;
  • Prepare dividend payment recommendations for the EFSL Board;
  • Manage payment of costs to Equiniti Limited;
  • Completion of EFSL FCA returns and submission via GABRIEL;
  • Assist Compliance with completion of Pillar 3 report;
  • Management and Issuance of ICAAP incorporating Stress & Scenario testing and coordinating updates to ICAAP documentation;
  • Monthly reconciliation of agency broker balances;
  • Monitor EFSL client bank diversification on behalf of the Finance Director;
  • Payment approver on various internet banking platforms;
  • Attend and prepare minutes of Finance and Operations Committee;
  • Manage cash retention arrangements for forged transfer insurance;
  • Adhoc future accounting and reporting requirements required by EFSL or any other Equiniti regulated firm;

 

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

The successful candidate will have/demonstrate the following qualifications, experience skills and behaviours:

  • Qualified ACA or equivalent
  • A strong market knowledge with the ability to keep up to date with regulatory changes, anticipating their impact on the financial position of the business
  • A strong knowledge of Capital adequacy and capital resource requirements for regulated activities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to gain credibility quickly
  • Previous experience of internal audit or risk assurance would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of Agresso accounting system would be advantageous
