Group Accountant

Sheffield City Centre / Eckington

£40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience

 

Company Introduction:-

The Servelec Group is a UK-based technology group, with significant intellectual property, providing software, hardware and services predominantly to the UK healthcare, oil & gas, nuclear, power, utilities and broadcast sectors.

Servelec has two operating divisions; Servelec Health & Social Care and Servelec Automation:

-  Servelec Health and Social Care specialises in the design, development and implementation of Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and Patient Administration Systems (PAS) and Social Care Case Management software within secondary care and social care settings and is a market leader in the Mental Health, Community Health and Social Care sectors in England.

-  Servelec Automation provides complex, mission-critical control systems to large blue-chip companies mainly in the UK, focusing on the oil & gas, nuclear, power, water, utilities and broadcast industries.  Servelec Automation also provides services from consultancy through to design, implementation, delivery, installation and on-going customer support and maintenance.

Key Position Objective:-

To assist the Finance Director in the preparation of the Servelec Group PLC accounts. Coordinating budgets and forecasts from the Divisional Accountants subsidiary company monthly management accounts and the Board Pack preparation.

Key Responsibilities:-

The role shall be, but not limited to:

  • To prepare the Group’s consolidated monthly management accounts and financial reporting pack for the Group Board in a timely manner.
  • To prepare the interim and final Group statutory reporting packs under IFRS in line with stock exchange reporting guidelines.
  • To coordinate the Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast processes.
  • To consolidate the Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast schedules for presentation to the Group Board.
  • To prepare the monthly management accounts for Group overheads
  • Responsible for sage systems across the group.
  • To monitor short term cash flow requirements
  • To liaise with the tax advisors to ensure the Group complies with all required tax reporting and legislation
  • To provide monthly comparisons of the Company's actual versus budget/forecast achievement.( orders, profit and cash)
  • To compare actual to budget performance on a monthly basis and identify areas where remedial action is necessary.
  • To ensure that all capital expenditure is approved in the required format and monitor expenditure and returns to evaluate if the financial forecast returns were obtained.
  • To examine and evaluate operational and overhead cost saving opportunities.
  • To ensure the integrity of the Company's internal management accounting systems.
  • To ensure the divisions comply with Group Accounting Policies
  • To advise and assist the Finance Director.
  • To ensure that all ledger transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To carry out any other duties that may be reasonably required.

 

Qualifications and Experience:- Essential

PLC experience

IFRS knowledge

Qualified accountant expected ACA or ACCA

The role will be self-managing to maximise the business benefit, sharing time across the business and staying within budget.
