Based in Surrey, we are looking for a Technical Reporting Accountant to join this leading Financial Services business on a 6 month fixed term contract.
The role will be working with both Group Reporting and Regulatory requirements and will become the "go to" person with regards to technical reporting matters. You will be able to align priorities, policies and practices across the division through influence and persuasion. In addition, you must be able to balance rule compliance with commercial considerations. The role has both a strategic component and a tactical one.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of IFRS financial reporting standards and latest technical updates
Identify, capture and document current reporting, both statutory and regulatory, requirements to ensure compliance with current accounting and legal reporting requirements
Liaise with local compliance officers in order to stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements
Work with Group to achieve best practice in technical accounting and reporting standards
Ensure judgments are IFRS/ Regulatory compliant, meet best practice
Ensure proactive resolution of issues ahead of period end (half year and full year) reporting processes
Assist in the preparation and presentation of Technical Accounting papers
We are looking for an Immediately available qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) that has strong IFRS, regulatory accounting and technical accounting experience, ideally gained within the Insurance or Financial Services sector.
