Our client, a market leader, require an IFRS Conversion Manager to lead a project that will lead the companys move from UK GAAP to IFRS for multiple entities. Outputs include measurement of transition differences, template statutory accounts for specific business entities including transition tables for first year adoption suitable for review by external auditors. Strong project management skills will be required with the ability to research and document all impacted areas of the accounts.

The Statutory Reporting and Accounting team is responsible for all aspects of statutory accounting across the business, including preparation of all UK statutory accounts for audit, and compliance overview of all other statutory requirements. The team also performs month end close activities for a number of UK entities, including ensuring that entries are booked in accordance with contracts and performing balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities
* Prepare IFRS template for UK statutory accounts and act as liaison between auditors and finance staff
* Ensure any new accounting or disclosure requirements will be captured in existing finance systems or propose changes to ensure automation.
* Determine information requirements to produce accounts in existing accounts production software. Design and test deployment of the modified process.
* Review underlying documentation to ascertain and measure any accounting differences
* Document company rationale for adopting a particular treatment in respect of each transaction type.
* Ensures statutory accounting is compliant with UK GAAP and IFRS protocols
* Participates with financial systems reporting projects, particularly those relating to statutory reporting
* Ensure departmental objectives and workload priorities are followed and achieved providing feedback as necessary
* Assesses actual performance to ensure success and takes corrective actions
* Helps to manage cross-functional links to other teams including Research and Policies team who consider US GAAP accounting policy implication

The candidate will also be required to research other accounting technical issues relevant to the Uk Statutory accounts.

Candidate profile:

* Qualified Accountant with post qualified experience (ACA preferable)
* Experience working with UK GAAP and IFRS (previous IFRS conversion experience would be ideal)
* Experience preparing UK statutory accounts under both IFRS and UK GAAP. Knowledge of US GAAP would also be of benefit.
* Proven ability to deal with large volumes of data
* Experience working as an auditor, or with auditors, in a corporate accounting setting
* Possess knowledge of General Ledger accounting, including balance sheet reconciliation
* Excellent financial reporting and analysis skills
* Proven ability to plan and adhere to strict deadlines
* Advanced Excel skills
* Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple and concurrent demands
* Strong project management skills including ability to manage details through to completion and ensure deadlines are met
