Financial Controller

Our client is an innovative venture capital backed technology business seeking a Financial Controller to report to the CEO. Key responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

• Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management

• Responsibility for all accounting including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the businesses accounting records and financial systems

• Production of statutory accounts for the business and its various subsidiary companies as and when required in accordance with the relevant accounting principles

• Play a full part in presenting relevant and timely financial information to the Board to enable a balanced and objective assessment of the business performance

• Ensure returns for Corporate tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with

Financial management & controls

• Effectively manage the near term cashflow forecasting, liaising with the banks and optimising the application of any debt facilities

• Management of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies

• Overseeing monthly processing of payroll

• Manage key relationships with the bank and other stakeholders

Team leadership

• Effectively manage, motivate and develop the finance department

• Supervise and review performance of individuals in the team

• Implementation of a change management culture by challenging & replacing established processes and procedures where necessary

• Liaise with different departments to ensure the finance department is properly supporting the needs of the operating businesses

You will be a Qualified Accountant with a track record of managing successful teams, improving financial processes and the ability to act as an interface for finance with other parts of the business. You must have excellent communication skills and a truly hands on approach.
