Assistant Capital Accountant

Reporting to the Asset and Maintenance Accountant, the Assistant Capital Accountant will account for all asset spend and depreciation across the group, will be involved in the monthly maintenance management accounts process and in accounting for stock.

In this exciting opportunity, you will manage the capital expenditure process from end to end, including the production and collation of fixed asset budgets and quarterly forecasts. Carrying out fixed asset audits at head office and external bases is also a key component of the role.

In addition to this you will be involved in the production of maintenance management accounts schedules including commentary, the completion of balance sheet reconciliations and will assist with any ad hoc requests as specified by the Asset and Maintenance Accountant.

The successful candidate will be currently studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA, be proactive, able to work to tight timescales and have knowledge of general accounting principles. You will need to have strong IT skills especially Excel to be considered for this position plus the ability to build excellent relationships with stakeholders from all areas of the business.
