Gleeson Accountancy Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with our market-leading FMCG client, based in Esher, Surrey and as a business are based in over 20 UK locations and are experiencing year-on-year growth and expansion into new markets.

This 8 month fixed term contract is to cover maternity leave, and our client is able to offer an immediate start for the right candidate who can display recent and relevant experience. You will be required to business partner with the marketing team with the aim of driving key brand performance.

Overview:

· Manages all financial processes relating to marketing activities, for a specific category, from brand planning and strategic planning down to pulling actuals into the system, evaluating P&Ls and balance sheet management

· Delivers actionable insight for the marketers driven by robust financial analysis

· Category facing financial resource supporting the Demand organisation.

· Job Context - fast moving role with control over marketing finance activities. Awareness of the business environment and issues within the business are key.

· Problems Faced - Prioritising varied workload and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders throughout the marketing and commercial functions.

· Integration - Managing the key brands performance with the marketing team to ensure we focus on sustainable results delivery

· Responsibility for a range of outlooks of the marketing agenda, from a strategic planning down to everyday financial issues.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Business partner with the marketing team, working on key projects as required.
  • Manage the category finance input and challenge for the 'Must Do' pillars.
  • Provide financial Input into the brand planning process, ensuring a robust modelling and reasoned insight underpins the decisions made
  • Provide input into periodic brand health meetings.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to forecast Marketing expenditure, ensuring accurate inclusion in the management accounts and monthly forecasts, including Budget
  • Manage and gate-keep the periodic postings of actual expenditure, via in-house system
  • Own brand P&L documents, ensuring fit for purpose and providing actionable insight
  • Own the financial input into the innovation process, supporting fully the conception, evaluation with robust and insightful analysis and recommendations and also contributing through attendance at project meetings
  • Update key financial stakeholders with a relevant level of information on project status
  • Build relationships and work closely with the supply chain finance team, understanding the production process to aid central challenge of product costs
  • Bridge the gap between demand and supply ensuring latest, agreed, relevant volumes and costings are used in the decision making process
  • Coordinate and influence approval and sign off by marketing and senior management teams.
  • Own the final product cost numbers which form an integral part of all evaluations for new product development
  • Financial lead in growth process/meetings

Knowledge & Experience Required

· Educated to degree level or equivalent

· Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA account

· Significant commercial acumen

· Ability to communicate and influence peer level

· Flexible working attitude

· Computer literate with an advanced working knowledge of spreadsheets and financial systems

· Tenacious and resilient with the ability to cope with a high workload and strict deadlines

· Able to work in a fast moving and high-pressured environment with changing priorities

· Results focused

· High attention to detail
