Senior Management Accountant

Hays Accountancy & Finance are working with a leading public sector organisation based in Fife to recruit a Senior Management Accountant. This is a temporary position for maternity cover that is envisaged to last around 16 months.

The ideal candidate for this role is an individual that has been employed in a similar role with specific experience in making process improvements within reporting & management information and have a proven track record of success in the not-for-profit sector.

The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified and have significant experience working within a large & complex organisation, as well as, experience of project or product costing, budget preparation, variance analysis, managing team and the ability to communicate financial management information to non-financial personnel.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

* Maintaining and building relationships with key contacts both internally and externally.
* Ongoing review of financial management and systems performance.
* Responsible for ensuring appropriate processes, review procedures and training is in place within the team for complete and accurate costing and monitoring of contracts.
* Month-end reporting and analysis.
* Preparation of monthly management and annual statutory accounts including variance analysis.
* Management of budgets and forecasts and overview of expenditure.
* Management of a team of Finance Assistants.
