Vacancy Description Duration of job: Indefinite
British Council is look for an experienced Financial Planning Analyst to join the English & Exams team in London.
Working alongside other members of the English & Exams FP&A team, you will support the English & Exams SBU leadership team on the development of the short and long strategy and the delivery of business plans, providing sound financial analysis grounded in a good understanding of the business.

- Good communication & influencing skills with experience of working in an international and multi-cultural organisation
- Building good relationships at all levels of the organisation aimed at enhancing stakeholder engagement
- Excellent analytical skills & ability to review available data and identify cause and effect, and then chooses the best solution from a range of known
- Demonstrable ability to break down problems into a list of tasks to be done and decides on appropriate action
- Ability to seek out and examines a range of information to identify patterns, anomalies, trends and options, to solve multifaceted and complex problems
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Demonstrable ability to shape forward plans for a major unit or multiple units, taking account of British Council strategy and the need to manage contingencies, risks and impact
- Flexibility, independence and initiative to perform successfully in a rapidly changing environment
- Excellent skills to use corporate financial systems and processes
- At least 2 years’ experience delivering financial planning & analysis, including management information reporting
- Flexibility, independence and initiative to perform successfully in a rapidly changing environment
- Qualified accountant or equivalent by experience in specialist area relevant to the job with proven experience of successfully delivering similar roles
- Operational level English
