Our client, based in Woking is looking for a Systems Accountant to join their thriving team.
Dimensions of Role:
- System management - maintaining the Group Consolidation and Reporting System BPC and ensuring that it is available to over 200 end users with minimal disruptions
- Data maintenance - uploading data to systems or supervising uploads using controlled processes, including to the Grants Tracking System and the SAP integrated projects, grants and finance system, used by around 4,000 users
- Business Change-working with business operations, external suppliers and IT to upgrade and modify systems from time to time, devising and undertaking or overseeing tests and managing the change process
- Business Support - supporting and training end users on the use of BPC and on the SAP integrated system and developing and testing management reports
- Staff line management - management of the Systems and Data maintenance Accountant
Key End Results and typical Responsibilities:
The Group Consolidation and Reporting System BPC is reliable and continuously improved to meet the operational needs of Plan's Worldwide users
- Maintaining and developing the consolidation and reporting system BPC
- Ensuring that adequate security is in place in the links between BPC and other applications
- Creating data mapping tools for loading data to BPC
- Ensuring that appropriate backups of the application are taken as required and tested from time to time
- Managing the BPC database and ensuring that appropriate archiving of data is in place to ensure that the application runs effectively
- Creating and updating BPC technical process manuals
- Providing audit trails of maintenance procedures for testing by external and internal auditors and assisting with the audit processes
Financial and non-financial data is uploaded to systems using controlled processes
- Supervising the uploads of grants expenditure data to the Grants tracking system in accordance with the Group schedule until the system is phased out in late 2015 / early 2016
- Supervising the uploads of restricted funds donation information (grants commitments and actual income) to the SAP integrated system in accordance with the Group schedule
- Ensuring that the schedule for uploading the annual environmental reporting data to BPC is met
SAP BPC is effectively administered
- Maintaining a schedule and approval process for the set up and removal of access rights and opening and closing of monthly periods and quarterly or annual reporting periods
- Supervising the set up and removal of user access rights on a timely basis
- Supervising the opening and closing of reporting periods and process workflows on BPC
- Ensuring that the workload of the systems and data maintenance accountant is adequately covered whilst they are on leave
- Ensuring that all system requirements for periodic financial reporting (e.g. monthly, quarterly, yearly, budgeting etc) for National Organisations, Country Offices, Regional Offices and IH are in place in a timely manner
- Ensure that daily optimisation, compression and index defragmentation tasks are carried out successfully on BPC
End users of SAP systems are supported and trained and reports meet business requirements
