Aligned to this transformation, the business is recruiting a Head of Finance to develop a vision for the finance function, to provide financial support to ensure their growth plans are realised and drive a culture of financial awareness throughout the business.

The Head of Finance will be tasked with developing a best in class finance function that demonstrates rigour and promotes new ideas and ways of working. You will be a positive influencer who can develop relationships with key stakeholders and take ownership of the financial management within the business.

Accountabilities

  • Support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) through the preparation and analysis

  • Ensure the day-to-day accounting and reporting is complete, accurate and on time

  • Improve and manage systems, controls and processes to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances

  • Provide robust financial commercial support to the SLT and business

  • Responsible for the delivery of the annual statutory accounts and adherence to all regulatory requirements. Ensure all accounting policies are up to date and appropriate to the business

  • Develop and prepare, in conjunction with the SLT, annual budgets and regular forecasts at a frequency required by the business.

  • Financially manage the strategic plan, including developing investment cases.

  • Implement a robust cash management system ensuring forecasting is up to date, accurate, transparent and helps the business to efficiently manage their cash resources

  • Effectively managing Treasury

  • Implement and manage a strong financial control and review process of project management within the business, ensuring robust business cases, correct authorization, spend and accurate forecasting and reporting

  • Produce all financial analysis required by the business unit so as to ensure that business decisions are based on accurate, factual and up to date information.

  • Develop the finance requirements for the IT financial systems, work with IT to implement any upgrade of systems. Ensure any implementation meets the requirements of the business and is future proof.

  • Responsible for the proactive management of the company pension scheme in conjunction with external advisors

  • Drive improvements in business partnering, pro-actively engaging with all departments within the business

  • Ad-hoc projects as required

Experience and Skills

  • A qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of years PQE

  • An understanding of professional services / business services / project based companies

  • Mix of large company and SME experience.

  • Knows what good looks like

  • IT system implementation experience

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Prior team management experience > 8 FTE’s

  • Previous project management experience

  • Strong stakeholder and communication skills
