Management Accountant - IS / IT Finance
Bedfordshire
45,000-50,000 + bonus (up to 30%), pension, healthcare, excellent holiday allowance, share save scheme
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join this double digit growth FTSE 100 retail business in a management accountant / Business Partnering role that will support the Information Systems (IS) function through a period of significant expansion and growth.
We are seeking an ambitious Qualified Accountant / management accountant to support the IT Finance Business Partner with budgeting / forecasting, reporting and analysis of the IS function. The role will be tasked with understanding, controlling, influencing and challenging approx £35M of Revenue and £40M of Capex spend.
Details of the role
- Developing strong working relationships within IS and Finance.
- Contribute to review meetings to ensure that all parties have a shared understanding on costs. Set the agenda in those meetings and influence towards required outcomes.
- Produce Budgets and Forecasts and work closely with Overheads & Fixed Assets team, ensuring all stakeholders understand how the budget is made up.
- Provide key information to IS Finance Business partner by reviewing, reporting and discussing monthly performance across all IS cost centres and at all levels required. Understanding and explaining variances to budget, and constantly evaluating and agreeing the impact on full year numbers.
- Challenge the total IS cost base by reviewing contracts and checking numbers match the contract. Keep up to date on any potential rebates, errors, credits etc in order to help drive savings where appropriate.
- Liaise with the Overheads Manager & Fixed Assets Manager to assist with the IS month close and reporting processes and financial control of all IS cost lines (including both Revenue and Capital).
- Manage the financial review of the IS projects. Provide a detailed review of the make up of the IS projects including timing, capital/revenue split and ranking & prioritisation of the projects.
- Help educate IS key staff, identify any requirements and resolve appropriately and efficiently. Identify & fulfil any financial reporting requirements for budget holders
The Successful Candidate
- Ideally ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified
- Previous experience of Business Partnering both Financial and Non-Financial colleagues
- Strong IT skills including Advanced Excel
- A proven track record of insightful financial analysis and assisting decision making
- The ability to drill down and understand key business drivers
