Group Payroll Manager Walsall Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 pa + benefits greenwellgleeson is exclusively recruiting for a Group Payroll Manager for a £100m+ turnover PLC based in the Walsall area. This is an opportunity for someone who is motivated by process and system enhancements and who enjoys challenging the norm to identify & implement effective improvements / efficiencies. The successful candidate will be a driven and proactive individual seeking to continually enhance the quality of service provided by the Group Payroll team to the rest of the Group. There are multiple payrolls with approximately 3000 employees in total. Key Responsibilities:Maintaining relationships and ensuring a strong proactive communication across the GroupDevelopment / training of the team following identification of its requirements.Proactively keep up to date with regulation changes and support the compliance with legislationProactively consider and where appropriate implement opportunities to reduce cost of employment and increase net income of employeesRegular review of key outputs quality is at consistently at a high standard.Regular spot checks and more formal audits of all areas of responsibilityTo ensure correct payments, reports and returns are made to HMRCWorking closely with technical members of staff to ensure the payroll and HR system adds value and is fit for purposeEnsure the system is generating reliable, useful and timely information and increase its reporting capability if considered appropriateTo ensure the system is regularly updated to reflect changes in legislationContinually review processes ensuring financial controlExperience of involvement in taxation planning initiatives. Skills:Good technical skills, including all relevant taxation and employment legislationGood system skills including report writing, maximising suggesting system development opportunities.Strong numeric and analytical skills.Ability to review / monitor / produce high quality accurate information / reports.Ability to communicate well verbally to all staff including senior management.People management skills and leadership including training and developmentA good understanding of the principals of internal control
